Welcome to Lion’s Den Leiden

Lion’s Den Leiden is a No-Gi Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling academy in Leiden, focused on technique, pressure, and long-term athletic development.

Our training environment brings together athletes from different backgrounds — including wrestling, judo, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu — as well as complete beginners who want to learn grappling from the ground up.

We train in a structured, respectful, and disciplined environment, with strong attention to positional control, submissions, intelligent sparring, and team culture. Training together means improving together.

Whether your goal is competition, self-development, or building a solid grappling foundation, Lion’s Den Leiden offers a place to train seriously, grow consistently, and progress as part of a committed team.

The Training

Training sessions at Lion’s Den Leiden take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and are fully focused on No-Gi Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling.

Each session follows a clear structure. We begin with a focused warm-up, followed by technical training covering takedowns, positional control, pressure, and submissions. Emphasis is placed on efficient movement, decision-making, and applying technique under realistic conditions.

Training is organized in blocks around key grappling positions such as guard, mount, side control, back control, and half guard. From these positions, we practice attacking, defending, and escaping, ensuring techniques are immediately applicable.

Sessions conclude with sparring, including both free sparring and situational rounds, allowing athletes to apply techniques under resistance and further develop their personal grappling style.

Training is suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners, with room for individual growth within a strong, respectful, and supportive team environment.
