No-Gi Jiu Jitsu & Submission Grappling

No-Gi Jiu Jitsu is a form of submission grappling trained without the gi, where positional control, pressure, and technical efficiency are central. The focus is on effective ground fighting, teaching athletes how to establish dominant positions and apply submissions with control rather than brute force.

Matches and training sessions often start standing and transition to the ground through takedowns and clinch work. Once on the ground, the emphasis shifts to balance, timing, pressure, and intelligent movement, creating opportunities for submissions through positional dominance.

Core techniques in No-Gi Jiu Jitsu include:
• Chokes
• Arm and leg locks
• Positional transitions and reversals
• Escapes under pressure

Competitions and sparring rounds can be won by submission, but also by maintaining dominant positions and controlled positional play.

While No-Gi Jiu Jitsu shares many principles with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, training without the gi results in a faster, more dynamic style, with increased emphasis on body control, movement, and realistic grappling scenarios.
